Deepawali Essay

Deepawali means rows of lamps. On the day of Deepawali, each house is decorated with rows of lamps. The lighting of lamps, candles and bulbs illuminates the corner of the house. Hence Deepawali is also called festival of lights.

Deepawali is celebrated on the new moon day of Kartik month. Light fades away darkness. Similarly, by publishing good thoughts in the mind, we can remove the darkness of the mind.

This festival brings with it a lot of happiness. Already one or two weeks, people are busy decorating the house, courtyard, locality and barn. Consumption of paints and whiteness in the market increases. The mild cool of cold weather increases the coolness of body and mind.

On the day of Deepawali, a wave of happiness runs in the house. The market is crowded with earthen lamps, toys, and sweets shops. Shopkeepers, traders worship their books and many also begin the new financial year on this day.

In the evening, the house-courtyard and the market shines. An echo of firecrackers and colorful lighting of sparklers create an atmosphere of joy all around. Dishes are made in every household. The fun of this festival is doubled by the school holidays of children.

Fireworks burst at night. The noise of firecrackers remains almost overnight. The process of exchanging the wishes of Deepawali continues. On this day Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Mata Janaki returned to Ayodhya after completing 14 years of exile and in the joy of their arrival, the towns people lit ghee lamps from house to house.

Since then this festival started. That is why we all celebrate the festival of Diwali and give so much importance to this festival. Bhagavan Rama came after lanka win, the victory of good over evil, so we all always remember this festival as the victory of good.
