The secular Jain Glass Temple, Kanpur was devoted to the people attending worship and believers of Jainism. The temple was mostly enthusiastic to the apostles and disciples of the great Lord Mahavira and the relax of the remaining 23 Jain Tirthankaras. The temple was constructed in the old and traditional style of building temples. This is one of the popular excursions from Kanpur. It is the core centre of Jainism here. It was built in the traditional style of structural design. Glasses and enamel are brilliantly ornamented and bejeweled in the walls of the temple with intricate pattern. The temple is situated in Maheshwari Mahal close to Kamla Tower. As the name indicates, the whole structure of the temple is built with glass and enamel. It is designed in conventional architectural style and attracts a huge crowd of local visitors and tourists from far and wide. While the floors are constructed with marble, the walls and ceiling of the temple are decorated with mirror cut in exquisite artistic designs. It is indeed a great work of art. The murals on the walls are made up of stained glass and portray the teachings contained in the Jain Scriptures. The temple has magnificently styled arches with ornate mirror work.
