Amavasya Tithi during holy month Sawan or Sharvana is observed as Hariyali Amavasya and considered highly auspicious. Hariyali Amavasya usually falls three days before famous Hariyali Teej Festival. 

Various temples in North India, especially in Mathura and Vrindavan, organize special Darshan on Hariyali Amavasya day. Thousands of Krishna devotees throng Dwarkadhish temple in Mathura and Banke Bhihari temple in Vrindavan to sight special Darshan of Lord Krishna. Phool Bangla at Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan is world famous among Krishna devotees. Apart from Krishna temples various Shiva temples also arrange special Shiva Darshan on Hariyali Amavasya day. 

Hariyali Amavasya falls during Shravana month which corresponds to Ashadha Amavasya in Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu where Amavasyant Lunar Calendar is followed. 

Hariyali Amavasya is also known as Haryali Amavas and Hariyali Amas Hariyali Amavasya Fair in Rajasthan. It is one of the most enjoyable fairs for the people of Udaipur. The fair is celebrated for three days, out of which one day is especially reserved for the women. 

Women can be seen shopping, enjoying various games, rides snacks etc. There are colors all around, loads of rides, lots of stalls and full on entertainment. It is a well known event not only in the city but also in the nearby areas and it attracts thousands of tourists. People of all ages, regions come to experience the city’s very own celebration and welcome the Greenery or Hariyali. 

A massive crowd can be witnessed enjoying various rides, games, snacks etc in the fair. The entire place holds within itself a very raw yet beautiful atmosphere. Various swings are also presented to enjoy the upcoming pleasant climate.
