International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world.

International Womens Day is marked on 8th March every year around the world.

This date is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday.

It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.

It is an occasion for looking back on past struggles and accomplishments, and more importantly, for looking ahead to the untapped potential and opportunities that await future generations of women.

International Women's Day first emerged from the activities of labour movements at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and across Europe. The first national Women's Day was observed on 28 February 1909 in the United States following a declaration by the Socialist Party of America. t is marked as general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women. On this day many events are held by womens groups around the world. Events took place on March 8 to commemorate the International Womens Day.
